Here is a fun idea! 

Every month I am going to send out a blog post with a new idea for that month.

Families can set their calendars to spread the cheer - all year!

After your year of giving you will be the one blessed.

You will have joy in your heart because

 it feels good to care for others.

August 
Host a pet party! 
The goal is to gather supplies to take 
to the animal shelter. 
Pass out flyers to your neighborhood
 or friends telling them of the pet party day.
 Have them meet you at your house so you all can gather the animal shelter supplies, things like food, toys and blankets for those cold, hard floors then 
 pack the supplies into the van and 
caravan to the shelter together.
 Afterward have a cooler with some treats 
and meet at a park to play.

Whew! It's hot outside! 
In the summer it's often dangerous for some people to work in the heat. Maybe a grandma or grandpa. 
Pray and ask the Lord to show you who you can care for. You could pull some weeds or mow the lawn. 
Be sure to take a jug of ice water or cold lemonade.

Flag day! 
Go to the library and check out some books on the history of our flag, also read about 
the Christian flag. 
Color some little flags, using toothpicks stand them in cupcakes then take them to a neighbor or a shut in. The shut in would probably love to hear what you learned about the flag :) 

Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, overflowing with gratitude.

It's time for May flowers! 

Decorate clay pots with paints and spray with a clear polyurethane finish. Fill the clay pots with potting soil and plant small flowers. 

Distribute them to teachers or group leaders with a thank you note.

make a simple card that tells about Jesus

March 4, 2014 

Today we celebrated being married 36 years. 
We had a lovely dinner at the Olive Garden. 

I was 19 years old and Don was an old man of 29. 

It would be fair to say it was a whirlwind courtship.

Our first date was to see the movie Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

Music, aliens and Richard Dreyfuss. 

We were married in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. and drove across the country from Florida to Utah for our honeymoon.  

We have had many, many seasons of life. We can look back as well as forward. 

Our hearts full of gratitude, we thank God for having grown us up and carried us and we look forward to many more adventures. 

On our way home from dinner we made an emergency stop 

MMM ... the red beacon of sweet dreams gets me every time.
